OUR HISTORY

Founded in July 2019, Vine Place Community Outreach (VPCO) was established with a simple but powerful mission: to steward God's resources and share them with those most in need. Guided by faith and a commitment to service, we work to address food insecurity and provide support for individuals and families facing hardship throughout Rankin County and surrounding communities.

Located on the campus of True Vine Baptist Church in Brandon, Mississippi, VPCO was founded by Rev. Stanley James, Pastor of True Vine Baptist Church. From the beginning, our vision has been to serve as a bridge between community needs and compassionate solutions, ensuring that vulnerable individuals have access to essential resources, encouragement, and hope.

In January 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic began impacting families across our region, VPCO responded quickly to meet the growing demand for food assistance. Through the generosity of foundations, private donors, churches, businesses, and community partners, we provided critical support to individuals, families, and children experiencing food insecurity when they needed it most.

Since that time, VPCO has continued to expand its reach and deepen its impact. Beyond providing food assistance, we serve individuals and families experiencing personal hardship, unexpected crises, and life-changing challenges. Our goal is not only to meet immediate needs but also to provide a hand up toward stability, dignity, and self-reliance.

Every meal distributed, every family served, and every life touched is made possible through the support of generous partners and donors who share our commitment to strengthening the community. As needs continue to evolve, VPCO remains dedicated to raising the standard of care, creating pathways to hope, and helping our neighbors build a brighter future.
